If we see a need we will do what we can to help. We are all for giving to others here at Mama Bee Does. We have been a part of many giving missions with mission giveaway and we have done a few donating shops for Champions for Kids as a part of Social Fabric and Collective Bias. We have joined another giving opportunity with another Champion for Kids SIMPLE service project. We were chosen to gather “hygiene” products like Dial soaps and body washes for donations to local children in need.

Baby B and I headed out to run some errands and gather donations. I took him for a haircut, got some lunch then we headed to Walmart for donation shopping. Since Dial is part of the project this time we made sure to get a lot of Dial soaps, Dial body washes and Dial hand soaps. I didn’t realize Dial had such a variety of scents and types of products until I went shopping for donations. We also got other items like twin size sheet sets and fleece blankets, a shower curtain liner, a mattress pad cover, some laundry detergent and batteries. All of the things that were on a list of needed donations for a local organization that I chose to help.

For our Dial into Giving donation we chose Miriam’s House. Miriam’s House is designed to end the cycle of homelessness, serves homeless single women and women with children. Not a shelter, Miriam’s House seeks to be preventative in nature for the children and rehabilitative for the adults. It is hoped that by offering a comprehensive program, individuals may be empowered to live independently. Once I read about what Miriam’s House was, what their mission was and what they were in need of I knew they were the ones that needed to get our donations.

You can see our full shopping trip and all that we bought in our Champions for Kids Dial into Giving simple service project google+ album. Sarah from Miriam’s House was very thankful for our donations. I hope my boys to continue to help others when they are older and on their own. Having the opportunity to do things like this with them now will give them a great foundation to build on.

Though I was paid to do this shop I took the entire amount I was paid and put it in to our donations. I didn’t keep a dime. To see what else Champions for Kids is doing you can follow Champions for Kids on twitter and like the Champions for Kids Facebook page. Dial is on twitter too and you can like the Dial Facebook page too.
