Chasing Fireflies Children’s Costumes for Halloween & Dress Up/ Pretend Play

I enjoyed playing dress up and Halloween was one of my favorite times to dress up. What am I saying? I still love dressing up for Halloween. My boys are the same way. Give them a costume and they become a whole new personality. They even love running around with just simple things like sheets tied on as capes. For halloween costumes this year we chose costumes for the boys from Chasing Fireflies.

There are 40 days until Halloween, have you ordered costumes yet? Chasing Fireflies offers a large variety of costumes and the costumes aren’t like the costumes we have had before from mass retail stores. They do have the character costumes but they have so much more unique and elaborate costumes to choose from. I thought I maybe could talk Caleb in to choose something different like this robin hood costume.

He had his heart set on the Batman costume as soon as he saw it in the catalog that came in the mail so no other costume would do. Kyle asked if they had any power ranger costumes without even looking at any of the selection that Chasing Firelies had to offer.

I let them pick their own costumes so we ordered Batman and Red Power Ranger.

The costumes were shipped really quickly and not just because I’m a blogger but they were offering free regular shipping on all orders and the usual shipping was pretty darn fast. I’m glad neither costumes the boys wanted were on back-order. As soon as the box was left on the porch Kyle was saying “Our costumes are here! Can we put them on?” We pulled the costumes out and I gave them a look over and was happy with the quality of the costumes. I wish the velcro closures on both costumes were larger because the little circles leave gaps between them. The fabrics are pretty thick and will hopefully last longer than one wearing as the costumes I got them one year before from “the mart”. The accessories aren’t all just plastic parts either.

The Batman costume came with a face mask that slides over the head with the cape attached. I have to do some out of the package shaping on the ears of the costume but that’s expected when a costume has been in a package folded up. I was surprised at how thick the fabric is on the gloves to both costumes. Gloves I bought from “the mart” last year didn’t even last through trick or treating. Both boys had poked holes with their fingers through the thin fabric. The Batman costume I thought would have the muscle look with cotton stuffed in to make the muscles but the chest is a hard material. The red Power Ranger muscles are stuffed for the “buffed” look. I do wish the red Power Ranger costume came with boot covers like the Batman costume did. He is very happy with his new costume though.

I love the look and quality of both costumes from Chasing Fireflies. Looking through the costumes makes me kind of wish I had a little girl to dress up. I mean look at these
