With the cooler weather slowly coming around and tailgating season in full swing, we’ve starting to crave those warm, comforting recipes that remind us fall is here. Enter “Crocktober”—a term coined for the popularity of slow-cooker recipes in the month of October. Slow cooker recipes are the perfect solution to deliver a great-tasting, comforting meal with few ingredients and little preparation. Now I use my slow-cooker year round (a lot) but I tend to go towards the chilis, stews and soups more in october through the winter than any other time of year. ReadySetEat.com, brought to you by ConAgra Foods, has a number of quick and easy slow cooker recipes. With a prep time as little as 10 minutes, visit ReadySetEat.com to help you celebrate Crocktober without spending hours in the kitchen! ReadySetEat’s “Slow Cooker” recipe collection has classic roasts and stews, plus flavorful dishes like the Pulled Chicken Sandwich, Vegetable Pork Stew, Asian-Style Shredded Chicken Wraps and Chicken Enchiladas.
I don’t know why I think soups and the like are only fall/winter time meals. Weird huh? Anywho… I’m bringing out the soups, stoups, stews and more fall weather recipes even though our weather is still in the 80s this week. Here’s what’ll be cooking for supper in Mama’s kitchen this week.
Monday- crock pot chili
Tuesday- (crock pot) creamy chicken noodle soup
Thursday-(crock pot) Loaded Baked Potato soup
Friday- (crock pot) Pork chops with mashed potatoes and apples
Saturday- Baked Spaghetti
