After an afternoon of skating and laser tag some of my family and I decided to have dinner at Red Lobster. There were 9 of us all together. Being a Saturday the place was packed. My mom and I stood and the 3 boys sat in the floor each with a smartphone in hand to occupy them while we waited. After about 45 minutes we got buzzed that they had a table ready for us. We took up the biggest table in the room I think. We had two servers, one guy and one girl, that both were super nice and made sure we didn’t go without while we were there.

I ordered from the Explore fresh flavors menu. I wanted shrimp but wasn’t sure what kind I wanted.

Then I saw that and knew what I wanted. Shrimp! Now through February 10, 2013 at Red Lobster you can mix and match 30 shrimp for $11.99 or 45 shrimp for $16.99. I decided to go with the 45 for $16.99. I chose the hand breaded shrimp (great with ketchup or cocktail sauce), the new crunch parmesan ranch shrimp (goes well with the ranch dressing) and the shrimp linguini alfredo. I didn’t realize that with all that shrimp I also got 2 sides to go with it. I got fries and figured that would be plenty. I knew I wouldn’t eat it all but wanted to try as much as I could without stuffing myself. While waiting on our food we sampled appetizers and talked and of course went through a couple baskets of the famous Red Lobster cheddar bay biscuits. My plate was one of the first to the table, like they knew they were being reviewed ha ha (no I didn’t disclose that with them).

Looks good doesn’t it? It was! After my 2 biscuits and about 10 shrimp, couple bites of the shrimp alfredo and a hand full of fries I was done. The rest went to a to go box. Now I did order regular hand breaded shrimp and the parmesan ranch shrimp but all the breaded shrimp tasted the same to me, like ranch and parmesan. It’s not a big complaint as I liked the taste but can you tell that there were actually plain hand breaded shrimp there like I asked for? My family didn’t have anything to complain about with our visit to Red Lobster. The 45 minute wait was usual so no surprise there, the food was delicious and the service was friendly and great even for as busy and running around as the servers were. Speaking of the food. Here’s more of some of the food we had at our table. This was a plate with lobster tail, scallops and some sort of rice? My uncle said it was really good.

For $11.99 or $16.99 I think the 30 and 45 shrimp deals are just that good deals. It’s a lot of food for one person. Head on over to your Red Lobster and give the 30+ mix and match shrimp for $11.99 or $16.99 a try. You only have about a week and a half before this deal is gone.
